Your First Visit: Consultation and Examination

A chiropractor’s first concern is to find out what is wrong and to screen for anything which would require referral to your GP or to hospital. Chiropractors are trained to investigate each patient’s condition before considering treatment.

  • This session will normally last one hour
  • You are welcome to bring a family member with you if you wish
  • You will be required to change into a clinic gown for the examination
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete the New Patient Form (or Click here to download New Patient Form and bring it completed to your appointment)

During the Consultation & Examination the chiropractor will:

  • Take a full case history
  • Perform a thorough physical examination
  • Carry out neurological and orthopaedic tests
  • Consider referral for diagnostic imaging, e.g. X-Ray, MRI scan
  • Refer on-wards if chiropractic not the right type of treatment

What to Bring to the First Appointment

  • Any x-ray/MRI reports
  • Any blood work reports
  • Any GP or specialist letters
  • List of all current medications

Not Sure if Chiropractic can help?

Why not book a ‘Free Screening’ with the Clinic Chiropractor. This 15 minutes assessment allows you an opportunity to explain the problem(s) to the chiropractor and get an opinion on whether or not we can help. There is no obligation to book an appointment after the Free Screening.
